The RICEI Project was founded in Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2004. It is an independent Research Unit that is a cooperative partner of the Administration Office of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.

The mission of the RICEI Project is to function as an international Research Unit of Comparative Education, specializing in intercultural and global education. Activities comprise a research section and applied areas of planning and teaching, the latter also consisting of work on educational policy development. The research activities are carried out with our partners on campus, chiefly in the fields of Education, Teacher Education, and Sociology. Internationally, the following institutions are involved:
