The central aim of the RICEI Project is to study the nature of educational innovations in the context of development, change, and reform. The following major areas have been emphasized in the research plans implemented by the RICEI Project:

• Implications of educational innovations in the countries involved
• The research process and methods in international and comparative education
• The utilization of educational innovations from the countries involved in the development work of schooling and education.
